6 day Kilimanjaro Mountain trekking – Machame Route you will never forget in your lifetime. This is the most beautiful route with some sort of adventures. Here you will experience a unique scenic splendor that is not seen in other routes. This is also known as the “Whiskey route”. In this route, you will sleep in tents unlike with all your equipment carried by our porter.
Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame camp.
Tisa Serengeti Adventure Guide will pick you with your picnic lunch from Moshi or Arusha to mt.Kilimanjaro- Machame gate (1490m). From here you will ascend through dain forest to Machame campsite (2980m). You will have your accommodation in tents and overnight.
Day 2: Machame campsite to Shira campsite
After breakfast you will trek to he top of forest and continue to the gentler gradient through moorland zone. there after you will continue up a rocky ridge onto the shira plateau where you will view western breach with its spectacular glaciers then after short hike you will reach Shira campsite(3840m).
Day 3: Shira – Lava Tower to Barranco camp
You will start your day early in the morning where your direction now will turn to East into semi-desert and rocky landscape surrounding Lava Tower(4630m) where you will stop for lunch. Then after you will descend to Barranco camp (3950m) where you will have a chance to take photos of western Breach and Breach wall.
Day 4:Barranco campsite to Barafu camp
From Barranco campsite (3950m) you will head down through the karanga valley over intervening ridges and valleys, and then joins up with the Mweka route. You will continue trekking to Barafu campsite hut(4550m) for overnight.
Day 5:Barafu campsite – Uhuru Peak (5895m) to Mweka campsite
You will wake up early in the Midnight and have a light breakfast and start climbing to Uhuru Peak through Stella Point on the crater rim. Then after short hike you will reach to the world’s largest free standing mountain peak (Uhuru Peak 5895m) where you will have wonderful moment and take more photos as you can. Thereafter you will descend through Barafu camp to Mweka camp for overnight.
Day 6:Mweka camp (3100m) – Mweka Gate (1980m)
Your last day will start early in the morning after breakfast and hike back to Mweka gate where you will be registered and awarded summit certificate, if you will manage to reach Uhuru peak you will be awarded Gold certificate and if you reach Stella point you will be awarded green certificate and then drive back to moshi or Arusha.
