6 day Kilimanjaro tours hike-Umbwe Route. Welcome to Mt. Kilimanjaro climb the snow-capped mountain and the tallest free-standing mountain. This route is Short and steep, considered the most challenging route on the mountain. This route has low traffic but its the quick ascent to Mt.Kilimanjaro. We therefore only recommend this route to experienced hikers who are confident in their ability to acclimatize.
Day 1:Umbwe gate to umbwe camp
Your life changing moment start after breakfast where our tour guide and porter will meet you in Moshi or Arusha. From Umbwe gate you will climb several hours through a dense forest with rubber trees and giant fig trees to Umbwe camp for your overnight.
Day 2:Umbwe camp to Barranco
On your second day after breakfast you will trek steeply through thin forest glades to Giant Erica, heather ad drier air up to a ridge that drops steeply on both sides. From here you will have a view of Uhuru peak ahead. Then you will enter a zone of giant groundsel that seem to guard the heights. This garden is one of Kilimanjaro’s special treasures.
Day 3:Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3963m)
Early in the morning you will leave the camp continue on the steep ridge passing Barranco wall to Karanga valley camp for accommodation and overnight.
Day 4:Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4640m)
Early in the morning you will ascend to meet the junction to Mweka trail and then short time hike to Barafu Hut where you will view the summit from different angles and also you will see the two peaks of mawenzi and kibo from this position.
Day 5:Barafu Camp to Summit (Uhuru peak)
Early in the midnight you will continue your roue to the summit through Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers and ascend to Stella Point on the crater rim . there after you will continue to the highest point (Uhuru Peak) on Mount Kilimanjaro and the African Continent where you will have fun and take more photos. Then from the summit you will descend to Mweka camp through Barafu campsite.
Day 6:Mweka Camp to Mweka gate.
Your last day will start early in the morning after breakfast and hike back to Mweka gate where you will be registered and awarded summit certificate, if you will manage to reach Uhuru peak you will be awarded Gold certificate and if you reach Stella point you will be awarded green certificate and then drive back to moshi or Arusha.
